On July 21st 2012, Hip Hop artist and one quarter of Hip Hop group, Slaughterhouse, Joe Budden performed in front of an intimate crowd at the live stage venue the Blockley on 38th and Chestnut street in Philly’s University City section.

While Joe didn’t perform until around midnight, the doors opened at 8 and was filled with performances from local artists from the area, most notably artist Chill Moody. All of them were talented and gave entertaining yet diverse performances which was really exciting to see.
By the time Joe had taken the stage the crowd had dissipated some, but it was still a nice amount of people there. His set was full of high energy and fan favorites. The crowd was completely enthralled the entire time.
All in all it was a great night. Dope venue, cool people, talented artists and awesome energy. The night left me with hope that hip hop just might not be dead but merely hiding at the Blockley.
